Goldfinch and Nuthatch on Nijer

Sometimes pictures just speak to you, and this shot of an American Goldfinch and a White-breasted Nuthatch on the Nijer seed sock is one I like. Nutchatches don’t feed on Nijer seed often but sometimes they must get a taste for it.

I think they tend to poke holes in the sock so I’m not crazy about having them on there but I don’t discourage or chase them away. They don’t do it often. It’s mostly the Goldfinches and sometimes a run of House Finches on the Nijer seed.
