Another Cooper’s Hawk attack witnessed on November 22 out our back window. The young, but good-sized Cooper’s Hawk swooped in missing in the initial attack and then landed on the nearby brush and leaf pile that our small birds often hide in to avoid just such an attack. The hawk hopped around the brush pile for almost 10 minutes trying to spot and listening for the hiding birds under the leaves and brush. I put the brush and leaves to help the small birds have a safe place though hawks got to eat too.
